Allow me to be honest here... I love this book. If you ask me, the Sherlock Holmes books are one of the best around. Sadly, though, I haven't yet had time to read The Sign of the Four, but I plan on at least starting it this week (Spring break!) I myself have a volume containing all of the Sherlock Holmes books, and it's the weight of a toddler. I love it, and it's absolutely beautiful, plus I can get in a daily workout reading it. A Study In Scarlet, if you don't know, is the first of many Sherlock Holmes novels by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. It details the initial meeting of Sherlock and Watson, including the description of Sherlock himself (no different than a description of Benedict Cumberbatch, really). This first case and display of camaraderie between Sherlock and Watson tests the boundaries of the former's deduction skills. (I'm pretty sure that was the most scholar-worthy sentence I've ever written.) Sherlock and Watson bicker as always, but there is a plot not shown in the BBC-version of Sherlock (of which I'm also the #1 fan of). It gives the murderer more of a motive rather than the "drug dealing taxi cab driver with no will to live." It is very deep and thought out, and I can't even begin to understand the complex mind belonging to Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.

I despise this book. I know, I know, it sounds mean, but I really cannot get through it. It's a utopian (yet dystopian) world in the future, where everyone is equal and every couple was matched by the Society to make sure that they would be compatible and make optimal offspring and blah blah blahity blah. You know? See, if Condie had focused more on the society the characters were living in instead of the dumb little love triangle, I think it'd be way better. I really don't even feel like explaining the book, because it's honestly just her struggling with whether to choose the mysterious boy or the cute childhood friend. I can't even really like the main character! I can't relate to her at all, and that's definitely a problem. You can go ahead and try it for yourself, because I'm sure there are other people who are in love with this book. I'm just not one of them. The plot itself is perfect, but the storyline is in need of repair.

Personally, I liked the first one more, but it's probably because I'm used to hearing that. I recommend you try both, though. See which one works for you! I can't listen to normal songs I like, or else I'll start singing and I'll get off track. If you're like me, I definitely recommend these types of songs. They're also really good for working out to, so you won't get distracted by anything from the outside world or any cluttered thoughts. Here's another one I listen to often: Chillhop Cafe 24/7 🎧 Jazzy & Instrumental Hip Hop for Work / Relaxing one This is one of the streams of this type of music they have up on Youtube. Just look up "Cafe radio" or other keywords like that, and you should be able to find one that suits you! Hope you like it! Stalking Jack the Ripper has got to be one of my all-time favorite books. It's masterfully written, especially for a debut novel. It's addicting, harrowing, with a hint of romance. Who would ever think you could be addicted to 1888-sarcastic-flirting? It follows the struggles of a young girl fighting against her family's high status so that she may do what she loves (autopsies and such) instead of becoming a demure little housewife. Her mother died from a sudden sickness when Audrey Rose (the main character) was young, and her entire family was instantly struck with grief. Her older brother was thought to have handled it well, but her father resented his brother, who worked in the medical field, for his not being able to save the father's wife...
